ROTARACT DISTRICT AWARDS 2008 CREATES NEW BENCHMARK -

The 'Apple Awards', as it was called, surprised the Rotaractors here with some very unique results. For the first time ever there was no 'Best President' awarded, nor was there any 'Best Club'. The decision of the jury has baffled one and all and raised a few eyebrows. Even previous leaders of the Movement, when informed, were left asking too many questions.

But the DRR 08-09 Rtr Ritwik, one of the members of the jury had a one line convincing answer "All it's done is set a new benchmark... the competition's just got better". Rtr Aanton, Associate DRR 07-08 put it very straight, "Look, to be the Best you have to be a role-model for the future, somebody whom others should follow. No club did enough this year to be the Best. There was no President who could be a role-model. Every club and every President in 2007-08 in some point or the other participated in activities beyond their 'own club business'. They know it, that's why they have also accepted it".

'Apple Awards' with such refreshing outlook has started a new chapter in Rotaract Awards. The new District is poised to make that better.
